London-based 8-piece Somali Funk Band, Dur-Dur Band International is currently the only Somali Live Music Band in the world.

Dur-Dur Band International as it’s known now is the regrouping of some of the original founding members along with the legendry Iftin Band musicians, the phenomenon vocalist Fadumian Hilowle, whose repertoire of Funky Oldies and contemporary compilations is of the best in Somali Funk.

‘The Berlin Session’ captures a historic reunion which took place in Germany’s capital in 2019 with legendary singers Xabiib Sharaabi, Cabdinuur Alaale and Fadumina Hilowle. Previously heard on reissues such as the Grammy-nominated compilation ‘Sweet As Broken Dates’. These are living representatives of a distinct era and are proof that Somali music is hot, funky and alive – again.
