Tomorrow’s Warriors returns to their spiritual home at the Jazz Cafe for I AM WARRIOR, celebrating new jazz collaborations with performances featuring award-winning alumni and the next generation of exciting young jazz talent.

This year’s special guest composers are Joe Armon-Jones, award-winning bassist Daniel Casimir (Jazz FM Instrumentalist of the Year), drummer Rod Youngs (Gil Scott-Heron), tenor saxophonist Maddy Coombs, and alto saxophonist Donovan Haffner (Moses Boyd and Kamaal Williams).

Tomorrow’s Warriors Soon Come Ensemble, featuring some of the best emerging Warrior jazz musicians, will be joined on stage by each of the special guests in turn to perform their new composition. Overseeing the evening will be Musical Director Binker Golding and our Host/MC, ESKA.

A black-led organisation, Tomorrow’s Warriors and co-founders Janine Irons and Gary Crosby have played a vital role within its community for over three decades, supporting those from challenging circumstances whilst pushing young talent to the forefront of the vibrant UK jazz scene, mentoring and providing training to the likes of Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia (Nérija), Femi Koleoso (Ezra Collective), Shabaka Hutchings (Sons of Kemet) and more.

All the ticket sale proceeds will go to Tomorrow’s Warriors Trust as well as an optional extra £2 donation per ticket for the Tomorrow’s Warriors charity fund.
