After first forming in Canterbury in the late 1960’s, the band want on to release mammoth tracks like ‘Hazard Profile’, and ‘Joy Of A Toy’, whilst being widely considered as the first progressive rock band.

Moving from powerful progressive jazz fusion to atmospheric psychedelia to free improvised jazz-rock, the Soft Machine’s ability to bring various sounds together has always pushed them into new musical forms of innovation.
